SEND Tutor — Happy Chatters
About the Role
As a Happy Chatters SEND Tutor, you’ll deliver personalised one-to-one tuition for children and young people across Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.
Our tutoring goes beyond academic learning. Every session supports communication, confidence, emotional regulation and meaningful progress — in a way that respects each child’s unique strengths and learning profile. Strong relationships are at the heart of how we work, and our tutors partner closely with families, schools and professionals to create positive, engaging learning experiences.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND
- Understanding of neuroaffirming practice and inclusive education
- Knowledge of communication differences, emotional regulation and sensory processing
- Understanding of Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) — desirable but not essential
- An ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and families
- Creativity and flexibility in adapting teaching to individual learning styles
- A genuine passion for helping children develop confidence and achieve success
Who You’ll Support
You’ll work with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and PDA Profile
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs, including DLD
- Global Developmental Delay and learning differences
- Learners with EHCPs and EOTAS packages
Every learner is unique, and every programme is tailored to their individual needs.
Why Work With Happy Chatters
We believe every child deserves to feel understood before they are taught — and we want our tutors to feel just as supported. You’ll join a team that values connection before curriculum, strength-based and child-led practice, and genuine relationships with children and families.
In return, we offer:
- Ongoing language development training
- A neuroaffirming, collaborative team environment
- Flexible working opportunities
- The chance to make a genuine difference in children’s lives, every day
